We officially said ‘I do’ on May 31.
Our original plan was to get the close family and our witnesses to join the short ceremony on Friday November 3rd and then head to the venue to party on Saturday.
Turns out – city hall is closed on November 3rd! Getting everyone to Ghent in the morning and then move the whole party to Froyennes, seemed like a hassle. So we had to look for another date.
Eleven years ago – May 31 – was our last date before being girlfriend and boyfriend (good lord *eye roll*); so hey – why not use this anniversary as our new official anniversary?!
The civil ceremony was a quick 10 minute meeting at city hall, after which we took Tram 1 to ‘Alix, table & jardin d’amis’ a cozy restaurant/garden for an intimate and convivial brunch.
